Rise & Guide
Discovery and development for self and others
I'm Jim Holder, founder of Rise & Guide
As an executive leader for over 30 years, I have worked for small startup companies, mid-sized and large, global enterprises. I have worked in over 8 different countries, experienced life in an additional 3 and worked with people in 6 more, for a total of 17 different countries. I have seen and experienced much across my career that includes coaching hundreds of leaders and individuals.
I have helped individual contributors make the transition into leadership (not a small task), mentored new and experienced leaders and also helped individuals improve their work and personal lives. Within my teams and with colleagues and peers I have: mourned loss, celebrated personal and work victories, motivated and supported teams through challenging projects and times, encouraged, defended, coached, and helped people understand their full potential.
People will try to diminish you, minimize your value or shame you. This can cause you to doubt and second guess yourself. The secret is, they don’t have the power to do this unless you give it to them. You can get my ebook, Not Good Enough, to learn how to guard against this and …. it’s free when you sign up for my newsletter.
What Others Say . . . .
All leaders consistently spoke highly of Jim’s leadership skills and his ability to provide direction without being a micro-manager. I was particularly impressed with his knowledge and his genuine interest in the development of his team.
From a human resource perspective, I witnessed Jim provide recognition and coaching to his team when necessary and was viewed as a knowledgeable mentor by his team and his peers.
Jim is freaking phenomenal. He really thinks the right way about how to establish great partnerships to learn the business, be curious, but not shy away from speaking up to provide recommendations/plans to optimize business processes.
While working for Jim, I experienced a fantastic amount of growth directly stemming from Jim’s management style. He made sure I had enough challenging work to learn and encouraged me when it was needed. He was a great boss, and I would work for him again anytime.
