I have worked in over 8 different countries, experienced life in an additional 3 and worked with people in 6 more, for a total of 17 different countries.
The experience gained from different cultures, business philosophies and regulations, and work perspectives is priceless. It has enhanced my business acumen, leadership skills and personal life in such a dramatic and influential way that living and working only in the US cannot provide.
I’ve been a leader for over 30 years. Over that time, I have worked for small startup companies, mid-sized and large, global enterprises.
I have firsthand experience working many roles for a startup company, doing whatever was needed to get the company up and going to being one of thousands in a large enterprise navigating the politics and bureaucracies to get a single approval for a project.
I have felt my share of intense deadlines, worked in and led death march projects, worked for good and bad leaders, hired and fired individuals, conducted and been a victim of layoffs, led transformational change, suffered through project disasters, budget blunders, mergers (as the acquirer and other times the acquiree), reorganizations and restructures.
I have seen and experienced much across my career that includes coaching hundreds of leaders and individuals.
I have helped individual contributors make the transition into leadership (not a small task), mentored new and experienced leaders and also helped individuals improve their work and personal lives. Within my teams and with colleagues and peers I have: mourned loss, celebrated personal and work victories, motivated and supported teams through challenging projects and times, encouraged, defended, coached, and helped people understand their full potential.
