The internet is full of videos of runners that fall during a race and get back up and win the race. They are inspiring to watch.

The thing is none of those runners knew the outcome of the race. They simply got back up, started running and poured their heart into the moment. They didn’t dwell on the fall but focused on the finish line. They didn’t give up even as they lay on the ground with the crowd of runners leaving them behind.

You won’t see any videos of those that dwelt on the fall. Those that gave up and walked off the track or got up and slowly trotted around the track so they could finish, but without any desire to try and catch up to the pack.

Unfortunately, we may not see any videos of those that got back up and poured their heart into the race and didn’t finish first, but they are still winners too.

The victory was not finishing the race in first place but giving their all after falling. Those that gave up missed the opportunity for growth.

You may not win the current race you are in, but it’s not just about the one race. Giving your all betters you. It improves you for the next race. Or you can give up and not be better prepared for the future.
